  • Sermon Series

We will begin a new sermon series using two "J" books of the Old Testament; the Book of Joshua and Judges. The sermon series title is "New Beginnings."  Like the Israelites, many of us need a new beginning from time to time. Perhaps we can learn from their accomplishments and from their failures. Many times the Israelites forgot about God and suffered the consequences. But then we also see how God is faithful to our genuine repentance.

This is a wonderful focus found in God's Word that you will not want to miss. However, if you happen to miss a week, you can request a CD of that sermon at any time. Or go online to hear the sermon you missed or would like to hear again.

Hello, my name is Roger Koster and I am the minister at St. Clair Christian Church.

I believe, at St. Clair Christian Church, we are finding the truth from God’s Word and teaching that truth.

Whether you are a Christian or just considering the idea, I believe our church family is one of the best you will find. If you already know Jesus as your Lord and Savior and are being led to find a new church home, I would like to extend an invitation to you or your family to come visit us whether it is for Worship Service on Sunday morning or any of our activities throughout the week. If you would like more information about our church or if I can answer any questions on our Services, Ministries or Activities, please feel free to call me at the church (636-629-0011) or at home (636-629-7644).

I would like to describe to you what I believe is a biblical concept of ministry. I think most people don’t realize everything included in being a minister. They believe he just needs to preach a good sermon and pray for the sick. However, church government is also very important to each member, whether they realize it or not. The happiness and love felt among the members often says a lot about how smoothly things are organized; that organization is part of my responsibility.

Yet a more important aspect of a minister is found in the Bible. Scripture tells us my responsibility also lies in shepherding the flock of Jesus Christ. That means I must teach, preach, and protect the flock from false teachers. It is important that I make sure we teach biblical lessons and preach sound doctrine. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I pray for discernment and a knowledge of the truth from God’s Word (Acts 20:17, 28-31). With the help of the Holy Spirit and the light from God’s Word I am challenged to be a shepherd and lead God’s flock, feed the sheep, and protect them from spiritual harm. This can only be accomplished through humble servant leadership.

And finally, it is my responsibility “to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” I believe that means that God wants His children to get involved in the work of the kingdom. My responsibility includes training Christians, teaching, and encouraging them to serve God with the best of their abilities. My prayer is that each of our church members will some day stand before the Judgment Seat of God and hear from their Lord, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things” (Matthew 25:21).

Thank you for researching our church home on this website.

God bless you,
          Pastor Roger
